It is not byob, they have a bar upstairs and serve everything up there.
Open i believe on Fri- Sat. TILL summer season kicks off.
You cannot unfortunately. They have a sign at the back entrance.
the lot in the back turns over quickly. if you hold on a few minutes something always seems to open up
Nope
Company communicated around March 13th!
Probably. Nice place. They have indoor seating.
The best fried clams on Earth. Just go already.
A must everytime I'm in Newport. I dream about the clam cakes. Short walk from Easton's Beach, so you can get some and bring it back. Although, beware, the line can get pretty long.
Rip off! Worst clam chowder small portions seafood was bad . I can keep going but why bother.
Run for the hills on this one (cliff walk not too far from there in Middletown) and don't look back. Try the "Homemade Chowda" and you will see for yourself how overrated this place is.
Nice view of the beach but I came for the food which was underwhelming for the price. Seafood dishes sparingly had seafood in them...maybe there was a shortage
Service is okay. Food is good. A little too good if you know what I mean.
The Crabby Patty was my favorite! We got the Fisherman's Platter as well and the clam cakes were my favorite among that. Not pictured: the raw little necks and oysters from the upstairs bar.
Fantastic place. Love their chowder and their clam cakes are fantastically fluffy. If you're looking for a larger meal go for the fisherman's platter. It's nearly enough for four adults. When this covid is over and you can actually sit down in a restaurant definitely worth the wait to get a seat on the roof deck.
My daughter takes me here at least once a year. If you love seafood this is the perfect place to go and be. Great food and beautiful scenery ( if you can look beyond the BIG WHITE BUILDING) across the street.
Good food and great service from the counter.
Simple and to the point. Great lobster rolls
Just delicious.. wow
Food was good. Not the best seafood I ever had but it was a nice spot by the beach. The portion is a bit small for the price of meal. A bit too oily/drips oil and also the claim chowder was a bit watery.
This place is amazing. Not only is their food DELICIOUS... but their customer service is outstanding. There is a cute guy Will who works at the Middletown location who always takes care of us. The staff there is so friendly and really on top of their orders, even with everything going on with COVID. They are taking tons of extra measures to make sure everything stays Clean and sanitary. Best lobstah rolls I’ve ever had. 🙌🏻 Newport in the summer would not be the same without Flos!!!
The stuffie was gross and pasty. The clam chowder had barely any clams in it and had little flavor. The fish and chips were blah. The bottled water was good. First time back in 12 years and I guess when you are on the Travel channel and Food Network you can let your food quality slipSo sad
So over priced, calamarys were chewy very nasty cole slaw didnt taste like nothing,$25 for a lobster roll crazy,,clam chowder was only potatoes..never going back
Awesome seafood. Glad it was recommended to us. They have awesome specials check out there menu to find out which day is better. Staff here is super friendly and nice. Great atmosphere! Will be back again!
First time here and unfortunately was not impressed at all. The white clam chowder was very watery and had more potatoes than anything else. The stuffed quahog had no flavor at all and I don't even think it even had clam in it. I didn't find a single piece of clam in the clam cakes. The fish and chips where ok. This was my first and last visit to Flo's.
Heard great things but unfortunately food was very salty. Clam cakes, cheeseburger, clam chowder. My daughter’s fish n chips was very good though.
Delicious food. clam cakes and fries. Yum!!
Every morsel was good. Pricey. No frills but that's flo's. Better prices in Portsmouth in summer.
Excellent everything!! Good drinks, awesome raw bar and yummy fried clams
So on point. No frills all day. Delicious.
Food is pretty good here. Great location right by the water with second floor deck seating looking right out to the beach. Nice raw bar at the second floor too. I got chowder and clam cakes. I didn't think the white chowder was the best. I like Iggy's white clam chowder much better.
Kinda dive looking joint has an interesting history. Across the street from the beach so not a great view of the waterfront. Find a seat, choose what you want and order at the porch window. Some of the best clamcakes I've ever had. Likewise with the traditional Rhode Island (clear broth) chowder. But pass on the lobster roll, not much meat and what there was of it didn't taste very fresh.
With all of the new guidelines in place, this place was accommodating. The food was piping hot, we were able to sit inside with face protection until it was time to eat, and everyone practice social distancing. I would certainly eat there again.
Fast moving long line. Able to sit outside. Food good. Because they use styrofoam containers we will not be back.
Seafood is often on the pricier side, especially in a place like Newport - but the fish n chips and fried clams are totally worth it. Discovered through Food Network and not disappointed. Fish was light and melt in your mouth with the perfect amount of crispy batter. The fries were not a soggy starch afterthought. Clams were also amazing
Great for after a day at the beach, good food casual atmosphere
I am a seafood lover that tries to avoid the fried goods as much as possible. That said, this place has some of the freshest, tastiest fried seafood I’ve ever had. You can still really taste what you’re eating with the fried enhancing the flavor instead of taking over. The environment is super cool too. Had a great meal after returning from the Cliff Walk and recommend you do the same!
Food is greasy and not tasty. Prices are too high for what you get. Waits are too long and everything is quite disorganized
This place was good. It seems to be a very popular place to go in the area for sea food. I got the clam strips. I'm not a big sea food consumer, but they were good.
Great seafood shack!! Very clean and all covid-19 precautions in place.
Delicious food! It was my second time going there and I live in New York. I will be going back. It's not elegant but that's why I like it. The seafood is so fresh.
Full bellied clams, clam cakes, chowder, all were great. Cold beers topped it off and a great view from upstairs! Fun
Consistently good over the years. Today was no exception. Best clear chowder and the whole belly clams are always great. Nice people too.
The food is good trust me on that😎
Worth the wait! Had about a 15/20 minute wait and parking in the back was a slight pain...Type of spot where you put the order in out side and given a beeper for when your food is ready. Honestly we got a bit of everything and it came to about $45 and we left full and happier than when we walked in. The decor was awesome as it had a super beach vibe to it! Staff was great even during the heat wave that brought the temps to around 104!! The views are awesome definitely check it out 👌
Visited as a tourist and exactly what I was looking for. It was a great place to bring my family while traveling. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was unforgettable. The name did not disappoint. It is possibly the cutest restaurant I've been in. A true shack. Parking was rough, the back parking lot fits around 10 cars and i was in a large rental SUV.
Clam cakes are the best. The chowder needs a little something
Good food! very organized with the guidelines being so hardtight.
Waited for 1 hour but it was totally worth it! Great raw bar
Good seafood served close to the beach. Tough traffic area at times.
Amazing experience, awesome food, best clam cakes.
Grabbed some take out while at the beach today. Clam cakes and chowder, my husband had Clam roll (whole). Wow! so good! Sad I didn't get more clam cakes... The Chowder (creamy) has a unique flavor, loved it! Worth the wait in line!
I loved the food here! I'm from out of state and I loved the atmosphere, walking in under the natural covering, the seaside decor and the staff was great! Totally worth the trip!
Loved the lobster roll and the wife couldn't believe the size of the calimari. Excellent !
My favorite! Fresh and delicious every time 🤤
Could not get near this place last year. So this year we thought we would try it because it was not crowded. very disappointed! Found the clam cakes to be very salty and dry. Definitely not world famous. I had a hamburger. It was very greasy and I don't know if it was frozen or not, but it tasted like it was a frozen one. The french fries were like double battered and very greasy as well. My husband had the fish and chips and red chowder. He said the fish and the chowder we're not bad. We will not be returning!!! Also, they have plastic in between the tables that was really in need of cleaning!!!
One of my favorite spots. For $25 Their lobster rolls could still be more generous with the lobster meat. That being said, this is a great seafood spot - right on the water (by the beach). Go there. You will not be disappointed!
